This is the second time we have stayed at Ardawn and we have found the location to be ideal for exploring Galway – around ten minutes walk to Eyre Square. Breda and Mike are excellent hosts, very obliging and always willing to help make a stay more enjoyable. The breakfasts are great quality (poached and scrambled eggs cannot be beaten!). There is always coffee and a range of teas in the lounge whenever you need it. The bedrooms are well presented and we have never had any problems with noise. The beds are also very comfortable. Looking forward to another visit in the future!

This was our second time staying with Mike and Breda. They are wonderful hosts who look after their guests like family. We arrived on an overnight flight from NY totally jet-lagged at 8:30 in the morning. They invited us in as our room was available and graciously let us catch up on some much needed rest. Smoked salmon for breakfast with the most amazing brown bread. Mike and Breda are avid hillwalkers, and gave us good advice on which mountains to climb in Connemara. A short, but memorable visit. We hope to return!

I stayed with a group of friends and the accommodations were lovely and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay there if I am in Galway again.

We missed meeting Breda because she was out of town, but can’t say enough about Mike’s warm welcome at his immaculate home. His breakfasts were delicious! Ardawn is a quick walk to downtown and a much needed walk home after eating delicious Irish dinners! Having stayed in other B & Bs with cramped rooms, we immediately appreciated the ample closet space and drawers. Galway is a lovely town with lots to see and do. Again, Mike exemplified Irish hospitality at its best when he drove us to the train station! We’ll be back!

I just spent three days at Breda and Mike’s with members of my hockey team.
I cannot say enough good things about Breda’s hospitality. Mike was away so
missed seeing him. The rooms were roomy, bright and clean. The breakfasts
were delicious and cooked to order and Breda couldn’t do enough for our team;
organising a laundry service, helping us get taxis and being on call 24 hrs to
answer questions and give advice. If I ever have the opportunity to be back in
Galway would be more than happy to stay at Ardawn House again.

This is a lovely Bed and Breakfast within walking distance to main shopping and attractions in Galway. Our rooms were cozy (very comfortable beds) with insuite bathrooms. It is right next door to a dog racing track which was very interesting, but we didn’t even know the racetrack was there until the second night. We stayed on the weekend when the races were going on, but never heard a sound from the track. Very quiet and peacful place. Breakfast was made to order and delicious with many options. Our hosts were very helpful with recommendations and will help organize tours to places of interest in the area at your request.
We were traveling with another couple and we were both pleased with the amenities, friendliness, and graciousness of our hosts.

A couple of the girls and I headed to the races for a few nights in July 2011. The room was immaculate and really nicely decorated. The beds were so comfy we found it hard to get out of them in the morning… although it probably had a lot to do with being out till all hours the night before! Our room was on the top floor, looking onto the greyhound track next door. Some might say that it’s noisy, but we had no problems with noise at all. The owners are so lovely and friendly, extremely accommodating to any special requests and gave us the warmest of welcomes into their home. Breakfast was just delicious with a wide choice and variety. I found the scrambled eggs just magnificent! All in all we had an amazing few days, and staying at Ardawn House was just one of the reasons we’ll be back to the Galway Races again in the future!
